Hello Neighbors,
There is an important City Planning Commission meeting coming up this Monday 5/19 regarding the redevelopment of 4506 and 4514 Verona Road. Lincoln Avenue Capital proposes to redevelop the properties at Feiler's Restaurant and Nakoma Plaza Repair. The existing structures would be demolished, and a new, five-story, mixed-use building would be constructed. The new building would be comprised of 45 one-bedroom, 23 two-bedroom and 25 three-bedroom units for a total of 93 apartments; underground parking and a community service facility.
The Planning Commission meeting will be held virtually, and I encourage neighbors to learn about the project, write comments to the planning commission (note: it must say 'for public publication'), register to talk to the planning commission and/or sign the ORNA petition. ORNA will be taking a stance to require a traffic study of the area before approval is granted. We are asking for this because the developers have not completed a traffic study and there are no plans to complete one. The 93-unit development is expected to bring 100-150 more cars of traffic into the area.
Petition Language
“We the undersigned hereby request a traffic study to be completed on Verona Frontage Road, Service Road, Hammersley Road and Reetz Road before approval is granted for the 4514 & 4506 Verona Road development."
