Garden & Stewardship Club

The ORNA Garden & Stewardship Club was formed in 2025. Neighbors meet every other month to discuss our interests and to plan activities to beautify and strengthen our neighborhood environmentally and socially. We are looking into volunteer opportunities in Orchard Ridge parks and our school forest, adopting medians and terraces, celebrating our heritage oaks, promoting native plants, educating about invasive species, protecting wildlife, and more.

We added the word “Stewardship” to ensure inclusivity—so that any ORNA member interested in being a good steward of our neighborhood knows they are appreciated. We welcome people interested in vegetables, annuals, ornamentals (which can also enhance native species!), container gardening, natural landscaping, composting, Madison’s lakes and water supply, living sustainably, urban planning, or simply socializing over a walk or a visit to another’s yard or garden.

We have a lot to look forward to and the more people who join, the more we can accomplish to make Orchard Ridge beautiful. Together we can create a place where nature, wildlife, and people can not only coexist, but enhance each other.

If you’re interested in joining the club, please email loriconnerwriter@icloud.com to be added to our email list.
